Talk Bits: I know I haven't been updating as frequently as I usually do but that's because I'm busy/sick/beyond exhausted. No one told me that senior year meant selling your soul to the school! I caught Transformers at Tropicana City Mall - was more excited about the cinema. More on that later perhaps!
Two weeks ago, right after I returned from BRATs Ipoh, my right ear started to hurt whenever I put pressure on it. Thinking it was a pimple or a mosquito bite, I decided to let it heal on its own. Two days later, it got BIGGER so I finally dragged my ass to my GP who prescribed me with antibiotics. The next day, I woke up with such intense pain that was too much to bear that I couldn't bring myself to go to school.
So, mummy brought me to Pantai hospital to check in with the ENT doctor who was so shocked that I didn't see him sooner! He went on about how swollen and infected it was and how that it was putting pressure on a nerve and causing pain bla bla. Anyways, he told me to have surgery on that day itself but I had the Departures movie preview which I didn't want to miss! (Need to blog about it mah :P) Besides, I did the math about OT and extra charges so technically, it was good move cost-wise. So, we postponed it to the next day.
Got there early, got naked and dressed in the hospital's robe and... waited and waited. Thank God I brought my book! Finally, the anesthetist came to brief me on whatever they were going to do bla bla and I was like okay whateverla, I just want it done and over with! Yet he kept on going reassuring me that it won't hurt as if I were a little kid -.- He soon realised that I was pretty cool about it but found out my fear of needles when he had to fit in that needly thing. HATE HATE NEEDLES.
So, got in the operation theatre, got out an hour later...
I woke up bandaged up like a post-war victim and therefore, looking like a total idiot! Anyways, the funniest thing happened: I woke up feeling like Superwoman as if I had slept for days and felt superb! So, the nurses thinking I was A-OK gave me food which I gobbled down and went back to sleep. Then, I woke up again feeling shits, nauseas and started to puke.
...post effects of anesthesia!
It got me pretty annoyed because ONE: They shouldn't have had fed me and TWO: Why didn't they just give me the IV drip? Anyways, what's done is done. For the past two weeks, I have been going to the doctor's to change my dressing daily because the incision is an open wound so I really do seem like a post-war victim! The first time I changed my dressing, it hurt so much that I cried. Imagine having gauze dried to your wound. AHH.
Overall, the surgery went perfectly fine. The most disgusting thing would be that there was blood in my ear canal. The result of the doctor NOT covering it during the surgery and allowing blood to flow in and drying there. Gross.
The current condition of the wound is much better as it's much more shallow, not so bloody and there's no pus anymore (ugh, I know). All praise to God for the speedy recovery! The wound cavity is slowly disappearing and I don't bandage it anymore because I keep peeling it off so if you wanna see it (AHAHA), ask before it heals!
