Objection!

Talk Bits: I managed to save a goal with my ass yesterday. It hit the goal post and then, my butt and out of there! My butt is sore now. Quite funny but not that funny la. In relation to the topic below, the other teams battled out the topic "The number of subjects in SPM should be limited" or something among those lines.

In 2005, I was Form 1 when I participated in the Inter-house Debate and I wrecked like hell. Besides turning tomato red, I read out my points which was such a big boo-boo. I was a new girl and it was my first time so I suppose it was good that I tried.

In 2007, I debated again, better this time but yet I could have had done better. It wasn't a question of my points or my speech but merely self-confidence. I was just too intimidated by my seniors and I had let that get to me.

It's 2009! It's my senior year and I have had 5 years of schooling experience to back me up. 5 years which include going through various phases, holding posts of leadership and going through experiences that when can only gain by growing up. Not to mention that my self-confidence has had a big boost since last year. In despite of losing the first round of today's debate, I am pretty glad. Firstly because it was such a big improvement compared to my traumatic past. Secondly, I didn't really like the topic and so, losing a debate about something I wasn't passionate about didn't feel that bad.

"The rich make less corruptible political leaders."

There's quiz tomorrow and then, debate 3rd/4th placing and finals followed by Maths Olympiad. It saddens me to know that it will all be my last but hopefully, it will be a victory ;) I also got to be timekeeper today. Bell-ringing was never so fun! I was so into it that I accidentally rang it a few times which startled me. Pretty embarrassing.. but sigh, my last year.
