Yellow Fuzzy Tears

i got back on the court today
after months of being busy with everything else,
i finally picked up the racket again
expecting to be as good as ever

i cried dammit
on the court dammit
the last time i cried on the court was when a ball hit me right in the guts
and that was eons ago.

sigh
sister no.3 and her philosophical self goes on to say
your past does not determine your future
she gave examples like lehman brothers but business is different
nevertheless
that phrase applies to so many of us
i've had friends tell me that they've gone in too deep to get out
which is sad

screw up in the past, don't screw up in the future
